Cute Puppy Dog Plush Toys: Featuring 10 Different Dog Breeds!
Not long ago, we published a blog post on 7 dog baby gift ideas which you can bring to a baby shower. Today, we focus solely on dog soft toys, and give you a more comprehensive list of a variety of dog breeds!
1. Shih Tzu
Shih Tzus are the most popular dog breed in Singapore, and I shih-tzu-not! Hence, they take the #1 spot on this list. Although its name means “little lion”, the temperament of Shih Tzus are mostly friendly and affectionate, and are not aggressive.
The adorable Shih Tzu Soft Toy featured here is from Sunlemon, a Japanese brand that places emphasis on the cuteness of their design. With its beady little eyes and soft fur, you will be sure to fall in love with the toy.
2. Shiba Inu
Currently the most popular dog amongst teenagers, you have probably seen many Shiba Inu-themed phone cases, tote bags and shirts around. Part of the reason for its popularity was the rise of the Doge meme in 2013, which features a Shiba Inu and overlaid text in Comic Sans font. You won’t be able to stop from squealing “such cute!” when you see the Shiba Inu soft toys we have below!
Sunlemon has two variants of Shiba Inu dogs in the Pups series: the beige Shiba Inu (above left) and the black Shiba Inu (above right). The Pups are smaller in size, easy for little children to cuddle and bring around. If you are looking for a more realistically-sized soft toy, the Shiba Inu Sitting Dog (pictured below) is more suited for you! You could place them on your lap to pet, hold them like a real dog, place them hanging on your shoulder, or decoration on the couch.
3. Pomeranian
One of the more extroverted and friendly dogs, the Pomeranian is tiny and adorable, and really good with children. Does that not tick all the boxes for a good family pet?
The World’s Cutest Dog, Boo The Dog, was also a Pomeranian! We have quite a few Boo plush toys on our website, and one of our favourites is the Boo In A Bed! It is the image on the left. Another Pom design we found is Sunlemon’s Pomeranian from their Pups series, which is petite and perfect for younger children to hold. This one is featured on the right!
4. Pug
Distinctly recognised by its short muzzle, the pug is a lovable and sociable little dog that remained popular since the 16th century. Many celebrities also own pugs, such as Paris Hilton, Gerard Butler, and PewDiePie to name a few.
Sunlemon has a super adorable Pug Pups Soft Toy which has different textures for its fur, ears, muzzle and feet. If you are interested, you can click on the picture on the left. We also love this Pugsheen plushie, where Pusheen cosplays as a Pug. Fun fact: Pugsheen was first introduced on April Fool’s Day, but quickly became a fan favourite! We can definitely see why~ Click on the picture on the right to find out more!
5. Chihuahua
Though they are the smallest dog of them all, Chihuahuas should not be underestimated! They can be fiercely loyal, and sometimes even overly protective of their beloved owners. Chihuahuas are also really smart and easy to train – their little bodies hide big brains!
Likewise, there are two different colours of Chihuahua Pups dogs, with a grey one (pictured on the left) and a beige one (pictured on the right). The Chihuahua Sitting Dog (pictured below) is larger, and made with a more realistic size and weight of a Chihuahua puppy. It is the closest you can get to an actual dog!
6. Toy Poodle
Ranked the second most intelligent dog, the poodle can be trained to learn many different skills. The poodle is also a stylish pet to have as you can choose the type of grooming – continental cut, Scandinavian clip, and more!
The Sunlemon Toy Poodle plush toys we found have the ‘teddy bear’ style clip, and are especially adorable with their large beady eyes and soft cuddly fur. Feels just like a teddy bear too! On the left is the brown version of the Toy Poodle soft toy, and on the right is the beige Toy Poodle toy.
7. Beagle
Beagles are fun-loving and gentle-natured, making them great companions for kids and adults alike. They have a very strong sense of smell and are still used for their keen noses in some countries. Fun fact: Our favourite cartoon dog, Snoopy, is a beagle!
GUND’s Russet Dog Soft Toy is a tri-coloured beagle made of ultra-soft and huggable plush. Pictured on the left, you can see that its tail sticks up, representing how excited and happy the dog is~ Sunlemon also has a Beagle Plush Toy with similar colour scheme, but of a smaller, cuter size. If you prefer petite pups and toys, then click on the picture on the right!
8. Dalmatian
Also known as “Spotted Coach Dog” and “Plum Pudding Dog”, the Dalmatian is easily recognised by its spotted white coat. Newborn Dalmatians are born with a completely white coat, before spots start appearing a few weeks after their birth.
Don’t worry, we are not featuring 101 of them! We have two different options from GUND! The Pipi Dalmatian has a cute pouty face and large fluffy paws – children would love to cuddle with this! On the other hand, Snowbounder is the perfect gift for Christmas, as he is dressed up in a red knit hat with a white bobble on top. Super adorable and a great size for any age to hug!
9. Labrador Retriever
The Labrador Retriever is the most popular dog breed in the US, and is also loved all around the world. As this dog is extremely hardworking and intelligent, they take up all kinds of canine jobs: search and rescue dog, and assistance dog to name a few.
Sunlemon features a yellow Labrador Retriever Pup, with its signature short fur and cute snout. If you prefer the brown version of the labrador retriever, GUND has the Cocco Chocolate Labrador Dog Soft Toy. The chocolate-coloured Lab Dog is befittingly named ‘Cocco’, and is perfect to place on one’s lap to play with.
10. Miniature Dachshund
“Sausage dog”, “hot dog” – the nicknames of the Dachshunds are based on their sausage-like bodies. However, in actual fact, the name “dachshund” comes from the German words ‘badger’ and ‘dog’. Mini Dachshunds come in a variety of colours and coat types.
We found two colours of Mini Dachshund plush toys from Sunlemon! Above, we have the brown Miniature Dachshund soft toy on the left, and the black Mini Dachshund on the right.
There are many other soft toys of different dog breeds out there, but we will stop here for now! Woof-hoo! We hope this post helped you find a suitable dog soft toy, or at least learn about a few dog breeds~
